NOTE : The following information must be read by any person designing, purchasing, installing or using a garage door system.
- Verify door operating system first. Ensure door is in proper working order. Qualified door technicians should check door balance and all hardware before installing an electrical garage door operator.
- A moving garage door system can cause serious INJURY or DEATH. Persons operating electrically activated garage door must read and understand the basic operating safety procedures.
- Verify that the correct door operator model, type and size is being used for a particular installation.

Commercial / Industrial door operators are designed for vehicular use only. They are not intended for pedestrian traffic.
- All electric garage door operating systems should be equipped with electric reversing edges, photo-cell, or other similar devices as a part of the safety system to prevent entrapment.
- Place the controls far enough away from the door so that a user can not come in contact with a moving door when operating controls.
- Locate control station so that door is within clear sight of person operating the controls. WARNING: TO PREVENT ENTRAPMENT DO NOT START DOOR UNLESS DOORWAY IS CLEAR.
- Children should never be allowed to operate or play under or near a garage door. All controls should be located at a level that is out of reach of children.
- Installation and maintenance manuals should be supplied to the owner / end-user or maintenance supervisor and be made readily available to any person.
- All entrapment warning signs should be placed on interior and exterior of garage door and adjacent to any operating device.
